{"id":238149,"date":"2025-10-24T18:19:12","date_gmt":"2025-10-24T18:19:12","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/au\/238149\/"},"modified":"2025-10-24T18:19:12","modified_gmt":"2025-10-24T18:19:12","slug":"nrl-2025-titans-hannay-officially-starts-as-a-titan","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/au\/238149\/","title":{"rendered":"NRL 2025: Titans, Hannay officially starts as a Titan"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Josh Hannay officially commenced his role today as head coach of the Gold Coast Titans, joining his newly appointed coaching staff as preparations intensify ahead of pre-season training next month.<\/p>\n<p>A proud Queenslander, Hannay shared his excitement about returning to his home state and embracing the opportunity to lead the Titans.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cIt\u2019s great to officially get started with the Titans,\u201d Hannay said.\u00a0\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWe\u2019ve assembled a talented and driven team, and I\u2019m confident we\u2019re ready to build something truly special here on the Gold Coast.\u00a0\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThere\u2019s a lot of hard work ahead, but we\u2019re energised and completely united in our vision.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>The Gold Coast Titans reaffirmed their full commitment to Hannay, who will lead the club for the next three seasons.<\/p>\n<p>Chairman Dennis Watt addressed recent media speculation surrounding Craig Bellamy, acknowledging the club\u2019s proactive approach.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cCraig Bellamy\u2019s legacy in the game speaks for itself. His interest in returning to Queensland is well known, and as a club committed to success and excellence, we had a responsibility to explore every possibility that could strengthen our future and secure the expertise of the most successful coach in the modern era,\u201d Watt said.\u00a0\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>\u00a0\u201cWe make no apologies for pursuing the best. That\u2019s what ambitious and successful organisations do.<\/p>\n<p>\u00a0\u201cWhile we don\u2019t comment on confidential contractual matters, we can say that much of the recent commentary has been inaccurate.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Throughout this process, Josh and his management have been fully informed and engaged.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cTheir professionalism and support for our decision in securing Craig Bellamy has been unwavering.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Hannay echoed the club\u2019s ambition and transparency.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI\u2019ve been involved in discussions about Craig\u2019s potential involvement since before I accepted the role,\u201d he said.\u00a0\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThe opportunity to work alongside someone of his calibre would be a tremendous asset for our club, our players, and for me personally in my first role as a head coach.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;I\u2019m proud to be part of a club that thinks boldly and acts with integrity.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>The Titans respect Bellamy\u2019s decision to defer any commitments beyond 2026 and confirm that\u00a0discussions on the matter have now concluded.<\/p>\n<p>Club owner Rebecca Frizelle OAM reinforced the organisation\u2019s long-term vision.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWe are unapologetically ambitious. Our responsibility is to invest in the Titans\u2019 future, not just for next season, but for the decades to come,\u201d Frizelle said.\u00a0\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWe\u2019re putting the right people in the right places at the right time.
