Ookla\u2019s latest speed-test report results are in, and they\u2019re liking T-Mobile and AT&T Fiber.<\/p>\n
Per 9to5Mac, wireless carrier T-Mobile tested as this year\u2019s fastest mobile network, offering the speediest downloads overall, and the fastest 5G. For home broadband, AT&T Fiber took the crown.<\/p>\n
Ookla, which produces the ever-handy Speedtest.net app and website, logs the results of the millions of tests run across it, along with the networks used, to create a comprehensive picture of the speeds offered by different fixed and mobile networks. The results are then analyzed and published in the twice-yearly Speedtest Connectivity Reports, which factors in raw speeds as well as measuring streaming video performance specifically, and a range of other indicators of real-life performance.<\/p>\n
As such, T-Mobile took the top scores out of five of the seven categories for the first half of 2025:<\/p>\n
Fastest<\/p>\n
Most consistent<\/p>\n
Highest 5G availability<\/p>\n
Best gaming experience<\/p>\n
Top rating for customer satisfaction<\/p>\n
The results showed a median download speed of 245.48 Mbps, and a median 5G download speed of 299.36 Mbps.<\/p>\n
The two categories it didn\u2019t win were instead won by Verizon:<\/p>\n
Greatest geographical coverage<\/p>\n
Best streaming video experience<\/p>\n
AT&T Fiber was able to win the best broadband category for fixed internet for the first half of 2025, posting a median download speed of 363.54 Mbps, and a median upload speed of 296.52 Mbps.<\/p>\n
