The starting grid for the 2025 Malaysian MotoGP<\/a> race is headed by Francesco Bagnaia<\/a>, who battled through Qualifying 1 to claim his third Sepang pole position in a row, then dominated the Sprint.<\/p>\n

Gresini\u2019s Alex Marquez<\/a> and VR46\u2019s Franco Morbidelli<\/a> complete an all-Ducati front row.\u00a0<\/p>\n

Alex will be riding without pressure after sealing runner-up in the world championship, behind his absent brother Marc, in the Sprint.<\/p>\n

Yamaha\u2019s qualifying ace Fabio Quartararo heads row two alongside KTM\u2019s Pedro Acosta and Gresini\u2019s Fermin Aldeguer.<\/p>\n

Aldeguer thought he had completed the Sprint rostrum in third, but was demoted to seventh by a post-race tyre pressure penalty.\u00a0<\/p>\n

Nevertheless, he still wrapped up the rookie of the year title on Saturday.<\/p>\n

Row three sees the Hondas of Joan Mir and Johann Zarco split by VR46\u2019s Fabio di Giannantonio.<\/p>\n

Alex Rins, Jack Miller and KTM stand-in Pol Espargaro completed the Qualifying 2 participants.<\/p>\n

Row five is formed by practice leader Luca Marini plus Aprilia race winners Marco Bezzecchi and Raul Fernandez, who all failed to escape from Qualifying 1.<\/p>\n

Augusto Fernandez completes the 23-rider field on the new Yamaha V4.<\/p>\n

There are no grid penalties, although Pedro Acosta – promoted to third by Aldeguer Sprint penalty – was fined for breaking MotoGP’s new rule that prohibits rejoining the track if a crash occurs in the final three minutes of qualifying<\/a>.<\/p>\n
