When it comes to elephants, we know they eat a lot. But it’s still so interesting to watch these beautiful creatures chow down. A viral video shows one elephant coming back for seconds (and thirds…and fourths….and fifths) of snacks from her keeper at the zoo. Her little trunk does all the heavy lifting, of course. And it’s just so stinkin’ cute.

Keep the snacks coming! The elephant wasn’t ready to say she was full in the video that was posted online. She must’ve been very hungry. She was ready to fill her plate.

Is there anything cooler than an elephant’s trunk? They really are the coolest little tools. A trunk can be used for smelling, of course. But as the video shows, it can also be used to grab or hold objects — like a whole bunch of tasty treats.

Related: Baby Elephant Can’t Contain the Love When Giving Her Favorite Human ‘Early Morning Kisses’

At first, the elephant’s caretaker was just playing around. Then it was time to get down to business. Snack business, that is.

It didn’t really matter what the person put forward for the elephant to munch on: apples, carrots, tomatoes, a head of lettuce, a squash – they girl took everything. It was like she was gearing up for the winter. Although the last time we checked, elephants don’t hibernate for the winter.

The food will go to good use, of course. The elephant will snack on the treats in no time flat. The internet couldn’t stop laughing at the way she grabbed each item lightning-fast.

“Its greed pleases me,” joked one person.

“It’s like it has eyes on its nose. How does it know so fast?” someone else wondered.

“So basically, this can go on… forever?” asked another commenter.

“I feel like those items are being placed in a basket for later,” one person wrote.

What Do Elephants Eat?

There’s a good reason for the elephant’s “greed” — she needs a lot of food per day! Elephants typically eat between 300 to 375 lbs. of vegetation daily. Nearly 80 percent of an elephant’s day is spent looking for food. Elephants typically eat grasses, small plants, bushes, fruit, twigs, tree bark, and roots. An elephant favorite is tree bark, as it contains calcium and helps with their digestion.

So really what we saw was such a small part of an elephant’s eating day. You could probably call it an appetizer to an even bigger snack.

Looking for more PetHelpful updates?
