But \u201cBones\u201d did take a subtle jab at Aspinall when the heavyweight champion was unable to continue in UFC 321\u2019s main event after Ciryl Gane <a href=\"https:\/\/www.mmamania.com\/latest-news\/398274\/video-tom-aspinall-catches-knuckle-deep-double-eye-poke-ufc-321-main-event-ends-in-no-contest-highlights-results-espn-ppv\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">poked him badly in both eyes.<\/a><\/p>\n<p class=\"duet--article--dangerously-set-cms-markup duet--article--standard-paragraph _1nfb3k4i _16w9vov1 _16w9vov0 ls9zuh1\">Jones held the heavyweight title from March 2023 to June 2025, and during that time he refused to fight interim champ Aspinall. That led to a lot of fans (and Aspinall himself) accusing the GOAT contender <a href=\"https:\/\/www.mmamania.com\/2025\/5\/13\/24429415\/jon-jones-refutes-duck-accusations-living-good-thailand-while-tom-aspinall-boils-over-ufc\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">of ducking<\/a> \u2014 an accusation Jones laughed at by making his social media profile pics a duck.<\/p>\n<p class=\"duet--article--dangerously-set-cms-markup duet--article--standard-paragraph _1nfb3k4i _16w9vov1 _16w9vov0 ls9zuh1\">Following Aspinall\u2019s eye poke No Contest in Abu Dhabi, Jones updated that profile pic to include an eye patch.<\/p>\n<p class=\"duet--article--dangerously-set-cms-markup duet--article--standard-paragraph _1nfb3k4i _16w9vov1 _16w9vov0 ls9zuh1\">\u201cAlex, I\u2019d be down to bring the highest skill level to the White House,\u201d Jones wrote. \u201cI appreciate the respect you showed, let\u2019s dance.\u201d<\/p>\n<p class=\"duet--article--dangerously-set-cms-markup duet--article--standard-paragraph _1nfb3k4i _16w9vov1 _16w9vov0 ls9zuh1\">UFC CEO Dana White hasn\u2019t been receptive to the idea of Jones fighting on the promotion\u2019s big June White House event. But with <a href=\"https:\/\/www.mmamania.com\/ufc-news\/396253\/alex-pereira-planning-jon-jones-superfight-then-boxing-bout-i-want-to-be-the-best\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Alex Pereira pushing the superfight<\/a> so hard, it may be difficult for the UFC to ignore the massive main event that\u2019s right there for the taking.<\/p>\n<p class=\"duet--article--dangerously-set-cms-markup duet--article--standard-paragraph _1nfb3k4i _16w9vov1 _16w9vov0 ls9zuh1\">As for Aspinall?
