I\u2019m letting them out.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cIf they\u2019re both fit \u2026 I\u2019m picking both of them (Wood and Archer).\u201d<\/p>\n<p>It would be a big call to play both stars who are working their way back from injury.<\/p>\n<p>Archer missed large chunks of cricket over a four-year period due to right elbow and stress fracture complaints. But he\u2019s managed to get through a host of T20s and one-dayers in recent months.<\/p>\n<p>Wood meantime is aiming to make his return from a year-long lay-off due to a knee injury.<\/p>\n<p>Cummins back training in hope for Ashes | 00:37<\/p>\n<p>\u201cIf he\u2019s fully fit and able to get a bit of work under his belt then I think he\u2019d be a huge asset for England,\u201d ex-Aussie batsman Mike Hussey said.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWe saw him bowl here in Australia (last Ashes here) \u2013 he bowled his heart out, bowled quick.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cBut if you\u2019ve been out of the game for a long time, it\u2019s not easy to come back into the Test match cauldron and perform at a high level consistently straight away \u2013 and especially in Australia where the pitches are unique.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cYou\u2019re charging in in hot conditions \u2013 it really does test your fitness and your endurance. I\u2019m sure he\u2019s been doing a lot of work behind the scenes to get his body right, to build up his fitness.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cNow he just needs to get some matches under his belt to build those bowling loads up.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Renshaw not listening to Ashes talk | 01:04<\/p>\n<p>Wood has already confirmed he\u2019ll be arriving in Perth earlier than the rest of the squad in a bid to best-prepare himself for the conditions.<\/p>\n<p>But with no actual matches under his belt before the First Test, it could be a big call to back Wood in.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cIt won\u2019t be easy for him \u2013 in the same breath, for what he can offer the England team you\u2019d give him every opportunity,\u201d Hussey said.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cIf he\u2019s under an injury cloud coming into the Test, it would be a risk to play him. You can\u2019t afford to have one of your main bowlers break down in the first innings of a Test match.<\/p>\n<p>\u201c(But) I don\u2019t think too many fast bowlers are ever at 100% \u2013 they\u2019ve always got some niggle or are trying to manage something.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThat\u2019s something for him, the captain, the coach and the medical staff to sort through and see how much he can get through and what standard he can get through and then you make a call on it.<\/p>\n<p>Weatherald eyeing Ashes selection | 01:03<\/p>\n<p>\u201cIf he\u2019s at 85 per cent \u2013 is that better than what the next guy can give at 95 per cent?
