It&#8217;s thought that 760,000 people over the State Pension age could qualify for this extra cash but aren&#8217;t claiming it.<\/p>\n<p class=\"Paragraph_paragraph-text__PVKlh \" data-tmdatatrack=\"content-unit\" data-tmdatatrack-type=\"paragraph\" publication=\"liverpoolecho\">Pension Credit offers more than just direct financial help; it can also provide additional assistance with heating bills, housing costs, Council Tax and free TV licences for those aged 75 and above. However, as pointed out by the <a class=\"TextLink_text-link__dBSS0 TextLink_enabled__dJF3l\" href=\"https:\/\/www.dailyrecord.co.uk\/lifestyle\/money\/dwp-pension-credit-action-week-36120888\" target=\"_self\" aria-label=\"\" tabindex=\"0\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\">Daily Record<\/a>, Pension Credit is one of the most under-claimed benefits in the UK.<\/p>\n<p class=\"Paragraph_paragraph-text__PVKlh \" data-tmdatatrack=\"content-unit\" data-tmdatatrack-type=\"paragraph\" publication=\"liverpoolecho\">It&#8217;s specifically designed to offer extra financial support for older people on a low income &#8211; both singles and couples. An award of merely \u00a31 per week is sufficient to unlock other forms of support.<\/p>\n<p class=\"Paragraph_paragraph-text__PVKlh \" data-tmdatatrack=\"content-unit\" data-tmdatatrack-type=\"paragraph\" publication=\"liverpoolecho\">Here&#8217;s a summary of the benefit including who should check eligibility, how to do it, and how much you could receive.<\/p>\n<p>Who can apply for Pension Credit?<\/p>\n<p class=\"Paragraph_paragraph-text__PVKlh \" data-tmdatatrack=\"content-unit\" data-tmdatatrack-type=\"paragraph\" publication=\"liverpoolecho\">There are two forms of Pension Credit &#8211; Guarantee Credit and Savings Credit. You might be able to get more if you&#8217;re disabled or a carer, or you have certain housing costs.<\/p>\n<p class=\"Paragraph_paragraph-text__PVKlh \" data-tmdatatrack=\"content-unit\" data-tmdatatrack-type=\"paragraph\" publication=\"liverpoolecho\">Savings Credit can give you up to \u00a317.30 a week for a single person or \u00a319.36 a week for a couple (married, in a civil partnership or living together).
