A python was discovered under a bus seat in Singapore\u2019s Woodlands, prompting ten passengers to be transferred to another vehicle for safety, according to The Straits Times.\t<\/p>\n

The python was first spotted around 9:05 p.m. on bus service 901M while it was traveling along Woodlands Avenue 1, the SMRT bus operator said. The Animal Concerns Research and Education Society (Acres) sent a rescue team after receiving a call for help but was unable to locate the python despite a thorough search.<\/p>\n

The following morning, Acres received another alert when the python was seen again. Rescuers later found it coiled beneath a rear seat, and the bus was taken out of service for the day.<\/p>\n

Photos shared by Acres show the cushions of two seats removed, revealing the juvenile reticulated python, about 40 cm long, coiled underneath.<\/p>\n

Acres CEO Kalai Vanan confirmed to news website Mothership that the python was rescued on Wednesday and will be released back into the wild.<\/p>\n

He said, “Snakes are naturally shy animals and tend to avoid human contact,” adding, “The python is believed to have sought warmth, which may explain how it entered the bus through small gaps.”<\/p>\n

He also noted Acres typically handle cases of pythons in the undercarriage of vehicles, but rarely inside of them.<\/p>\n
