Retired Port Adelaide legend Travis Boak<\/a> has joined Carlton in a leadership and cultural role.<\/p>\n

Boak retired from the Power after 387 games and 19 seasons, but was chased hard by a litany of clubs around the competition.<\/p>\n

With a return to Victoria on the cards for the first time since he was drafted, the 37-year-old considered positions at Collingwood and the Western Bulldogs<\/a>, but found reuniting with Chris Davies (former Port Adelaide football boss) and Michael Voss<\/a> (ex-Power assistant coach) at the Blues was the right fit.<\/p>\n

“I was so fortunate to be presented with a number of opportunities since retiring, but this new position at Carlton and the direction in which Graham Wright, Chris Davies and Michael Voss<\/a> are looking to take the football program was a clear standout for me: I couldn’t turn down the opportunity to be part of this,” Boak said.\u00a0<\/p>\n

“I am passionate about leadership and helping players not only grow in this space but thrive, while getting the absolute best of themselves in high-pressure environments \u2013 I can’t wait to get to work with this group.\u00a0<\/p>\n

“It is really clear to me that this Club has a clear direction, a strong vision and most importantly total alignment on what that looks like across the board, which was a massive reason why I wanted to be part of what is building here at the Blues.\u00a0<\/p>\n

“I am looking forward to playing my role in doing everything we can to build the environment to help us achieve success.”<\/p>\n
