During Saturday\u2019s game between Golden State and the Portland Trailblazers, a fan of the latter known on social media as Dino Stevens took to TikTok, _pott3r503_, for some sympathy after he was given the cold shoulder by the shooting guard.<\/p>\n
\u201cHey is that cool to say that in front of my son,\u201d Stevens filmed himself yelling at Hield, who was walking by.<\/p>\n
Trying to get a reaction out of the player, the Portland fan was given a rude awakening when Hield said: \u201cI don\u2019t care, shut the f**k up.\u201d<\/p>\n
Sticking a camera in Hield\u2019s face, Stevens told the player that he was on camera, with the star promptly responding with: \u201cF**k you and f**k off.\u201d<\/p>\n
In a follow up video, Stevens recounts his version of events, saying that he wanted Hield to talk to his 13-year-old son, who is a Golden State fan.<\/p>\n
\u201cMy son is a Golden State fan and Buddy Hield passed by our chair, and I said, \u2018Hey Buddy Hield, say hi to my son\u2019,\u201d Stevens said in a second TikTok.<\/p>\n
\u201cHe goes on to the court and I said, \u2018Hey Buddy Hield, you want to talk to my son\u2019, and he just bypasses us and fully ignored us.<\/p>\n
\u201cSo I said, \u2018Why are you mad, is it because the Blazers are winning?\u2019\u201d<\/p>\n

Hield and the Warriors side were left frustrated at losing their first game of the season to the Blazers, going down 139-119, and the fans taunting resulted in the guard clapping back.<\/p>\n
Following the confrontation, Stevens took it upon himself to call over the stadium\u2019s security guard, telling the employee: \u201cHey boss, I talk to Buddy Hield and he cursed me out in front of my son, is that cool?\u201d<\/p>\n
Hoping for some retribution, the security was not having a bar of his complaints.<\/p>\n
\u201cDon\u2019t talk at him and you will be fine,\u201d the guard said.<\/p>\n
\u201cI can\u2019t go up there and kick Buddy Hield out … he\u2019s not going to (apologise), you might as well let it go.\u201d<\/p>\n
Posting the videos to TikTok, fans swiftly came to the defence of Hield, a highly-regarded and well-liked player, while labelling Steven as \u201csoft\u201d.<\/p>\n

\u201cYou\u2019re literally the problem. Leave him tf alone. Grown ass man acting all entitled,\u201d one comment said.<\/p>\n
\u201cBuddy handled that perfectly. You cant demand an apology for words and then act entitled. The man has every right to speak how he wants,\u201d another wrote.<\/p>\n
\u201cShout out to Buddy Hield\u2026..man I hate fans like this,\u201d a third added.<\/p>\n
Others felt sympathy for the young fan at the centre of this saying \u201cyou should apologise to your son for embarrassing him with all this.\u201d<\/p>\n
Many fans pointed out how Stevens had used choice words when complaining to security.<\/p>\n
\u201cYou taunting him while he\u2019s working, you get cursed out and you go crying to security lol\u2026 and why when security comes over you down play the story,\u201d one said.<\/p>\n
\u201cWhat were you expecting the security guard to do?,\u201d a second pointed out.<\/p>\n
Despite the wave of criticism, Stevens continued to die on the hill and defended his actions.<\/p>\n
\u201cIt don\u2019t matter if my son is a toddler or a young man,\u201d he said on TikTok.<\/p>\n
\u201cThat doesn\u2019t give a right to an NBA player to disrespect me in front of my son just because he is an NBA player.<\/p>\n
