{"id":246271,"date":"2025-10-28T12:10:08","date_gmt":"2025-10-28T12:10:08","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/au\/246271\/"},"modified":"2025-10-28T12:10:08","modified_gmt":"2025-10-28T12:10:08","slug":"enea-bastianini-my-life-is-complicated-after-19th-to-7th-charge-at-malaysian-motogp","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/au\/246271\/","title":{"rendered":"Enea Bastianini: \u201cMy life is complicated!\u201d after 19th to 7th charge at Malaysian MotoGP"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.crash.net\/motogp\/racer\/973238\/enea-bastianini\" data-entity-type=\"external\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Enea Bastianini<\/a> paid the price for a lowly 19th place on the starting grid as he charged all the way to sixth in Sunday\u2019s Malaysian <a href=\"https:\/\/www.crash.net\/motogp\" data-entity-type=\"external\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">MotoGP<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>The <a href=\"https:\/\/www.crash.net\/motogp\/teams\/red-bull-ktm-tech3\" data-entity-type=\"external\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Tech3 KTM<\/a> rider lost two-thirds of the final 15-second deficit to race winner Alex Marquez in the opening half of the grand prix, when he was still down in 13th.<\/p>\n<p>But in a race where the soft rubber needed exceptional management over the 20 laps, MotoGP\u2019s \u2018tyre whisper\u2019 went on to pass Marco Bezzecchi, Brad Binder, followed by the Hondas of Luca Marini and Johann Zarco on the same lap.<\/p>\n<p>Late retirements for Fermin Aldeguer and Francesco Bagnaia then handed Bastianini seventh at the chequered flag for his best result since a podium in Catalunya.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;My life is complicated!\u201d he smiled. \u201cStarting on Friday, I was nervous because I had no confidence with the bike.<\/p>\n<p> Article continues below ADVERTISEMENT<\/p>\n<p> Article continues below ADVERTISEMENT<\/p>\n<p>\u201cOn Saturday, we resolved some problems in the sprint [ninth], and we arrived on Sunday prepared, ready to fight for the top 10.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cBut starting from 18th is tough, I gave it my all, but it is difficult to recover positions on that track, as the front tyre is getting hotter and hotter.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cBut anyway, I am happy with the job done today.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWe are still missing a bit of consistency, especially on time attacks, because every time we put on new tires, all KTM riders improve, and not me, so it is something that we need to understand, and I&#8217;m sure we can get better.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cLast year, I had the same issue, and we resolved it, so I am confident that we will find a way to solve it too with the KTM.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p> Article continues below ADVERTISEMENT<\/p>\n<p> Article continues below ADVERTISEMENT<\/p>\n<p>    <img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/au\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/10\/podium-plus-ktm.png\"   type=\"image\/png\" alt=\"Malaysian MotoGP lap times: Podium plus other KTM riders\" loading=\"lazy\" style=\"aspect-ratio:1.79\"\/> <\/p>\n<p>Malaysian MotoGP lap times: Podium plus other KTM riders<\/p>\n<p>Team manager Nicolas Goyon called Bastianini\u2019s ride a \u2018bittersweet\u2019 performance.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;Gaining 12 positions in the race to finish in P7 is a great performance,\u201d Goyon said. \u201cHowever, it gives us the same bittersweet feeling as usual, because he would probably have been fighting for the top 5 if he had qualified better.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWhen you see the final position of Pedro Acosta, you really believe it would have been possible.
