Canterbury will provide over 450 players from PWR with boots during the 2025-26 season, which began on October 24.<\/p>\n
The original deal between PWR and Canterbury also included Frasers Group (which owns the Sports Direct chain) working with the two parties to promote the league and grow its fanbase.<\/p>\n
Canterbury is one of the most prominent rugby equipment brands and currently boasts tie-ups with the Irish Rugby Football Union (IRFU) governing body and the British and Irish Lions touring organization.<\/p>\n
This month has already seen heavyweight insurance brand Gallagher expand\u00a0its already-significant presence in English rugby union by striking a sponsorship deal covering PWR.<\/p>\n
Through a three-year tie-up, Gallagher becomes the league’s official insurance partner.<\/p>\n
This agreement adds to Gallagher’s existing title sponsorship of the men’s English Premiership, through an agreement also set to run until the end of the 2027-28 season.<\/p>\n
Launched in June 2023, rebranded from Premier 15s, PWR was established to deliver a 10-year strategy for women\u2019s rugby in England through a partnership between the Rugby Football Union and the 10 clubs participating in the PWR competition and the Allianz Cup.<\/p>\n
