Manchester United head coach Ruben Amorim has made a \u201cchange\u201d to first-team training which has produced a \u201creal spark\u201d at Carrington according to sources close to the club, an inside report reveals.<\/p>\n

Mixing old and young<\/p>\n

GIVEMESPORT<\/a> explains Amorim has started to \u201cinclude more and more youth players\u201d in senior training with the Portuguese tactician believing the combination \u201cadds hunger and energy to sessions.\u201d<\/p>\n

While previously senior players and academy starlets had often trained separately, Amorim has been increasingly \u201cblending\u201d both groups in \u201ctactical and technical drills\u201d which encourages greater \u201ccompetition and communication\u201d.<\/p>\n

One well-placed source contends this has an immediate effect with the first-team squad benefitting from the injection of enthusiasm from their younger counterparts, and vice versa in terms of the sharing of experience at the highest level.<\/p>\n

\u201cTraining\u2019s got a real spark to it again. The young lads aren\u2019t there just to make up the numbers \u2013 Amorim wants them learning the standards and pushing for places,\u201d the source reveals to GIVEMESPORT.<\/p>\n

There are downsides, however, with some of the academy graduates \u201ctak[ing] time to fully settle\u201d as they \u201care still adjusting to the pace and physicality of first-team football\u201d.<\/p>\n

But Amorim and his coaching staff have been careful not to \u201coverload\u201d the youngsters \u2013 and there is firm belief the \u201cbenefits far outweigh the challenges.\u201d<\/p>\n

Shea the Standout<\/p>\n

GIVEMESPORT\u00a0states Shea Lacey \u2013 the 18-year-old attacking starlet considered one of the premier prospects in United\u2019s academy \u2013 has been a \u201cstandout\u201d in training who has \u201cimpressed staff and senior teammates alike with his directness and flair.\u201d<\/p>\n

One source reveals the England U-20 international has been \u201ctearing it up \u2013 fearless, creative, and always looking to make something happen. He\u2019s really caught the eye.\u201d<\/p>\n

Amorim is said to be \u201ckeeping a close watch on his development\u201d with a view towards inclusion in a first-team matchday squad as the season the progresses.<\/p>\n

The Peoples Person has relayed reports corroborating Lacey\u2019s meteoric rise with a host of clubs, including Premier League sides, interested in signing the forward on loan.<\/a><\/p>\n

But this increased role for youth players in the senior team\u2019s training, which has produced much improved results on the pitch in recent weeks, means Lacey, along with his academy compatriots, may be more valuable to United\u2019s fortunes in training at Carrington rather than first-team opportunities elsewhere.<\/p>\n
