The Sydney Kings have shut down the idea that they will bring in a third import during the Hungry Jack’s NBL26 season.<\/p>\n

According to CODE Sports, the Kings currently have four marquee players on their roster, including imports Kendric Davis and Tim Soares.<\/p>\n

The other two spots are occupied by NBL23 MVP Xavier Cooks and 2024 Paris Olympian Bul Kuol, who was part of South Sudan’s historic squad for the Games.<\/p>\n

But the latter has struggled to reach the heights he reached during his Cairns tenure, where he averaged a career-high 12.7 points and 2.1 triples (at 40.8 per cent) during the 2023-24 season.<\/p>\n

Since arriving in the harbour city, the 28-year-old has battled injuries and only averaged just 5.4 points, including a career-low 3.5 points per game, on 36.4 from the field and 31.6 from downtown.<\/p>\n

Yet, the Kings are adamant they’re going to stick with just the two imports and not convert the Canberra product’s contract to a regular salary counting against the cap, as it would put the club in tax territory.<\/p>\n

\u201cWe are not considering adding a third import at this time,\u201d the Kings said in a statement to Code Sports.<\/p>\n

\u201cWe\u2019re confident in the playing group and our focus right now is on supporting them to perform at their best.\u201d<\/p>\n

The Kings, who are 3-5 on the Hungry Jack’s NBL26 season, play at Brisbane (Saturday) and Melbourne (Monday) in Round 7, with both matches broadcast live on ESPN.<\/p>\n
