Since 1992, Adelaide has been the envy of music lovers around the world for one weekend in March, as the WOMADelaide festival brings a broad program of music and cultural experiences to the city centre’s stunning Botanic Park.<\/p>\n

The first announcement for the 2026 instalment features 49 artists from across the globe, set to transform Botanic Park into one of the most sonically diverse places on Earth. The line-up brings together beloved favourites and, even more excitingly, a treasure trove of fresh discoveries waiting to captivate audiences.<\/p>\n

WOMADelaide’s best moments<\/a><\/p>\n

You might come to WOMADelaide for the headliners, but you’ll leave with a new favourite band.<\/p>\n

This year’s First Nations program is a standout, featuring the game-changing Yothu Yindi, country superstar Troy Cassar-Daley, hip hop firebrands Baker Boy and BARKAA and brilliant singer and songwriter Kankawa Nagarra.<\/p>\n

American indie folk icon Iron & Wine makes WOMADelaide part of his first Australian tour in years<\/a>, New Zealand’s Marlon Williams brings Kapa Haka group Ng\u0101 M\u0101tai P\u016brua along to work through his stunning new te reo M\u0101ori album<\/a> Te Whare T\u012bwekaweka at the festival.\u00a0<\/p>\n

Recent visits from the likes of Daptone soul man Jalen Ngonda and zeitgeist-busting Nigerian singer Obongjayar proved they’re perhaps even more captivating live than on record, and their WOMAD debuts will both be enormous.\u00a0<\/p>\n

The dancefloor will get a serious workout at WOMAD next year as acclaimed Indian-Dutch selector Jyoty, Palestinian techno queen Sama’ Abdulhadi and British dance icons Crazy P all deliver DJ sets to keep the crowds moving.<\/p>\n

Bobby Alu will bring his best island vibes<\/a> when he returns to WOMAD, Blue King Brown frontwoman Nattali Rize brings tracks from her 2025 album Liberate to the festival, and Sydney psych quartet The Lazy Eyes will take us all on a trip.<\/p>\n

Great as all these acts are, the real magic of WOMAD lies in discovery \u2014 many leave raving about artists and genres they never knew existed.<\/p>\n

On that note, don’t miss Ghana’s infectious Alogte Oho and his Sounds of Joy, Cuban pianist Roberto Fonseca, or Japanese hip hop purveyors Kojoe and Hikaru Tanaka who’ll appear with the Australian Art Orchestra \u2014 just a taste of the sonic surprises awaiting adventurous ears next March.<\/p>\n

“Few festivals in the world are able to showcase the breadth and diversity of music, arts and dance from across the globe, especially on such a large scale, while appealing to audiences of all ages and tastes,” festival director Ian Walker said in a statement.<\/p>\n

“WOMADelaide is a glorious opportunity to discover new sounds that are soon to be favourites and embrace artists you love.”<\/p>\n
