\n Melbourne has signed a talented basketballer from the University of North Florida.\n <\/p>\n
MELBOURNE has added another Demon to the mix, signing Oscar Berry as a Category B Rookie ahead of the 2026 AFL season.\u00a0<\/p>\n
Berry, who stands at 194cm tall, is set to add to the Dees\u2019 depth, while bringing his unique experience from years on the college basketball circuit in the US.\u00a0\u00a0<\/p>\n
Having begun his collegiate career at Fairleigh Dickenson University in New Jersey, the 23-year-old has spent the past four seasons playing for the University of North Florida, completing his degree earlier this year.\u00a0<\/p>\n
Melbourne AFL List Manager Tim Lamb said the club was thrilled to welcome Berry to the red and blue.\u00a0<\/p>\n
\u201cWe\u2019re excited to welcome Oscar to the club for at least the next two seasons,\u201d Lamb said.\u00a0<\/p>\n
\u201cWe had Oscar down for a trial earlier this year and were really impressed. He\u2019s got great athleticism and aerial craft, and strong potential to develop into a key defender for us.\u00a0\u00a0<\/p>\n
\u201cWe think Oscar will be a fantastic addition to our mix and look forward to him joining us next month.\u201d\u00a0<\/p>\n

Berry, who grew up in Australia and played footy up until under-16s, qualifies as a Category B Rookie, given he has not been registered to play in any football competition over the past three years.\u00a0\u00a0<\/p>\n
He comes from a rich sporting family; his brother Jordan spent eight years with the Pittsburgh Steelers and Minnesota Vikings, while his other brother Wilson is currently signed as a punter with the University of Kentucky.\u00a0\u00a0<\/p>\n
