Every year, race organizers seek out the most prominent names to compete in their events, whether it’s a highly regarded stage race or a spring classic. How will all those organizers view the starting list<\/a> for what appears to be an insignificant criterium in November? Tadej Pogacar<\/a>, among others, will be there<\/a> when we cycle a lap in Monaco on November 23.<\/p>\n

The popular residence of a whole host of riders was in the news again this week, after it was announced that in 2026, the Vuelta a Espa\u00f1a will start with a time trial through the streets of Monaco. Residents and cycling fans will get a preview in November, when a host of big names will travel to the principality.<\/p>\n

Or rather, travel? Most riders live in Monaco and therefore only have to step out of their front door to participate. In addition to Pogacar, think of his neighbor Davide Formolo (Movistar), permanent Monaco residents Giulio Ciccone<\/a> (Lidl-Trek), Tim Wellens (UAE Emirates-XRG), Michael Matthews<\/a> (Jayco AlUla), and Steven Kruijswijk (Visma | Lease a Bike).<\/p>\n

Ferrand-Pr\u00e9vot, Van der Breggen, Wiebes, and Niewiadoma in the women’s race in MonacoThe organization also announced sprinter Jonathan Milan. The Lidl-Trek sprinter is in, as are home riders and true Monegasques Victor Langelloti (INEOS Grenadiers) and Antoine Berlin (BIKE AID). In the women’s race, Pauline Ferrand-Pr\u00e9vot<\/a> (Visma) will be competing. Representing SD Worx-Protime will be Lorena Wiebes<\/a> and Anna van der Breggen<\/a>.<\/p>\n

But that’s not all: Pogacar’s fianc\u00e9e, Urska Zigart, has also agreed to participate. Kasia Niewiadoma (Canyon \/\/ SRAM) will be there, as will Italians Vittoria Guazzini and Chiara Consonni. Seeing all these names together, one feels sorry for the organizers who will have to settle for less on their starting list in 2026. Perhaps a trip to Monaco in November?<\/p>\n<\/p>\n
