{"id":250961,"date":"2025-10-30T13:16:11","date_gmt":"2025-10-30T13:16:11","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/au\/250961\/"},"modified":"2025-10-30T13:16:11","modified_gmt":"2025-10-30T13:16:11","slug":"johann-zarco-impressed-by-mir-i-need-to-open-my-mind","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/au\/250961\/","title":{"rendered":"Johann Zarco \u201cimpressed\u201d by Mir, \u201cI need to open my mind\u201d"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.crash.net\/motogp\/racer\/889489\/johann-zarco\" data-entity-type=\"external\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Johann Zarco <\/a>says he needs to \u201creally open my mind\u201d when it comes to base set-up and riding style if he\u2019s to unlock the kind of speed shown by Joan Mir on Honda\u2019s latest <a href=\"https:\/\/www.crash.net\/motogp\" data-entity-type=\"external\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">MotoGP<\/a> updates.<\/p>\n<p>The <a href=\"https:\/\/www.crash.net\/motogp\/teams\/lcr-honda\" data-entity-type=\"external\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">LCR Honda<\/a> rider revealed he had reverted to earlier parts at Phillip Island in a bid to regain confidence with the RC213V.<\/p>\n<p>At Sepang, Zarco experimented with different engine specs early in the weekend before switching back to the new engine configuration for the races, scoring points in both for the first time since Austria.<\/p>\n<p>However, the Frenchman could only manage 12th place in Sunday\u2019s grand prix, while Mir &#8211; who crashed out of the podium fight in Saturday\u2019s Sprint &#8211; celebrated his second Honda podium in four rounds.<\/p>\n<p>    <img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/au\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/10\/podium-plus-honda.png\"   type=\"image\/png\" alt=\"2025 Malaysian MotoGP lap times: Podium riders plus Hondas\" loading=\"lazy\" style=\"aspect-ratio:1.79\"\/> <\/p>\n<p>2025 Malaysian MotoGP lap times: Podium riders plus Hondas<\/p>\n<p> Article continues below ADVERTISEMENT<\/p>\n<p> Article continues below ADVERTISEMENT<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThe situation in Honda is clearly much better than one year ago,\u201d Zarco said.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThe podium of Mir proves that the bike can be in the top five.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cYesterday he was feeling also pretty good\u2026 and today he confirmed that he was fast again.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI was behind him, and he was very impressive.
