Sharik and Jessica Burgess-Stride of Rotorua were finishing their wedding paperwork when actor Elijah Wood<\/a> walked down the aisle to congratulate them.\n<\/p>\n \u201cWe were just finishing the signing of the paperwork when all of a sudden Elijah Wood started to walk down the aisle,\u201d Sharik told the Waikato Herald<\/a>. The couple could hardly believe their eyes.\n<\/p>\n<\/p>\n \u201cAt first I thought, \u2018Nah that\u2019s not him\u2019\u2014then, \u2018Oh sh–, it is him,\u2019 \u201d Sharik recalled. The star, known for playing Frodo Baggins in The Lord of the Rings movies, had stopped by as the newlyweds wrapped up their ceremony.\n<\/p>\n \u201cIt had been a very rainy day, but the rain stopped for about 30 minutes and we held the ceremony,\u201d Sharik said.\n<\/p>\n Their timing couldn\u2019t have been more perfect. Moments later, Wood appeared, catching the couple and their guests completely off guard.\n<\/p>\n The viral TikTok posted by Hobbiton Movie Set<\/a> captured the moment, with the caption: \u201cPOV: You\u2019re getting married in The Shire and an unexpected guest crashes your wedding\u2026\u201d In the clip<\/a>, Sharik could be heard exclaiming, \u201cOh my God!\u201d as the actor walked toward them.\n<\/p>\n Guests clapped and cheered as Wood greeted the couple and posed for photos. \u201cHe shook our hands and said congratulations, and stuck around for a few photos before he left on a tour \u2014 he was there with a group of people,\u201d Sharik told the outlet.\n<\/p>\n Others in the comments reacted to Wood’s surprise appearance.\n<\/p>\n “That\u2019s like getting married in a church and Jesus walks in,\u201d one commenter wrote.\n<\/p>\n “It was so nice of him to let them get married in his yard,” another wrote.\n<\/p>\n Hobbiton Movie Set General Manager Tourism Shayne Forrest said it was the first time a Lord of the Rings cast member had attended a wedding at the site.
