LOCK HAVEN, Pa. \u2013 After reaching the Atlantic Regional Final last season, the IUP women’s basketball team looks to build on its postseason success under fourth-year head coach Craig Carey<\/a>.<\/p>\n

The Crimson Hawks were picked to finish third in the PSAC West in the conference’s preseason coaches’ poll, trailing only Gannon and Seton Hill. The Golden Knights received seven first-place votes, while the Griffins received one. In the East, Lock Haven earned the top spot with six first-place votes, followed by Kutztown with three.<\/p>\n

IUP will rely on a mix of veteran leadership and emerging underclassmen in 2025-26. Seniors Ellie Wilkerson<\/a> and Nyshae’ Weaver<\/a> both started all 28 games last season. Weaver was one of just two players in the PSAC\u2014and fewer than 20 in Division II\u2014to average a double-double, posting 14.8 points and 11 rebounds per game. Wilkerson provided steady perimeter shooting, hitting over 31 percent from three-point range, while fellow senior Marin Miller<\/a> led the team from distance, connecting on more than 40 percent of her 54 attempts.<\/p>\n

Sophomore forward Lily Jordan<\/a> also returns after appearing in all 31 games last season and averaging more than 24 minutes per contest.<\/p>\n
