I\u2019ve had a lot of at-bats, but I just love it. If there\u2019s one thing I do miss \u2014 I don\u2019t miss playing the game. I don\u2019t. There hasn\u2019t been a day since I retired where I\u2019ve missed playing the game, but if I could wake up and play in a World Series, I\u2019d do it.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Since his retirement, Jeter has become a successful broadcaster, working as an analyst on Fox Sports\u2019 baseball coverage since 2023.\u00a0 Jeter is joined by fellow baseball legends David Ortiz and Alex Rodriguez.<\/p>\n<p>Known as &#8220;The Captain,&#8221; Jeter spent his entire 20-year <a href=\"https:\/\/www.espn.com\/mlb\/player\/_\/id\/3246\/derek-jeter\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer nofollow\">career<\/a> with the New York Yankees. He\u2019s a 14-time All-Star, won the 1996 AL Rookie of the Year and 2000 World Series MVP awards. Jeter retired with 3,465 hits, the sixth-most in MLB history, and remains the Yankees&#8217; all-time leader in hits, games played, and doubles.<\/p>\n<p>For his clutch performances in the postseason, he earned the nickname &#8220;Mr. November.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>In contrast to Jeter\u2019s perspective, Michael Jordan shared how much he misses competing in his <a href=\"https:\/\/awfulannouncing.com\/nba\/michael-jordan-makes-broadcast-debut.html\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer nofollow\">debut appearance for the NBA on NBC<\/a> last week.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI wish I could take a magic pill, put on shorts, and go out and play the game of basketball today, because that\u2019s who I am,\u201d <a href=\"https:\/\/x.com\/awfulannouncing\/status\/1980807140748194273\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer nofollow\">Jordan told Mike Tirico<\/a> on his \u201cInsight into Excellence&#8221; segment. \u201cThat type of competition, that type of competitiveness is what I live for, and I miss it.
