\n\tEXCLUSIVE: Filmmaker Anna Zlokovic<\/a> will direct the feature The Broodmare<\/a>, a horror film penned by Michael Voyer, for XYZ Films<\/a> and Tea Shop.\u00a0<\/p>\n

\n\tVoyer\u2019s script was featured on the Black List. The story follows a recovering alcoholic who travels to a remote horse breeding farm to make amends with his high school sweetheart as part of his twelve-step program. As tensions escalate, he finds himself caught in the violent crosshairs of a grand scheme orchestrated by his cult-following hosts.<\/p>\n

\n\t\u201cAs soon as we read The Broodmare, we knew we had to be a part of it \u2013 it\u2019s a searing, character-driven horror film with a finale for the ages,\u201d said XYZ and Tea Shop. \u201cAnna\u2019s brilliant vision is the perfect vehicle for Michael\u2019s writing, and we can\u2019t wait to see it realized.\u201d<\/p>\n

\n\tZlokovic added, \u201cThe Broodmare is the kind of script you don\u2019t put down and then your jaw hits the floor by the end. I\u2019ve never read anything like it. It\u2019s exactly the type of movie I\u2019ve been craving to watch: high tension, provocative storytelling that unravels into something totally unexpected.\u201d<\/p>\n

\n\tXYZ and Tea Shop most recently collaborated on the Fantastic Fest title Night Patrol, which was acquired by IFC\/Shudder for a January 2026 release, and the upcoming Banquet, which begins production this fall in the UK with Meghann Fahy starring for filmmaker Galder Gaztelu-Urrutia. Alex Williams and Aram Tertzakian will oversee the film for XYZ, alongside James Harris for Tea Shop.<\/p>\n

\n\tZlokovic is best known for her feature Appendage, which premiered at SXSW.
