Gold Coast have decided to delist pre-season recruit Ben Jepson<\/a>; however have assured the Southport product of their plans to select the defender via next month’s Rookie Draft.<\/p>\n

Jepson joined the Suns earlier this year as a Supplemental Selection period signing following a strong spell in the VFL with the Sharks and Coburg.<\/p>\n

The 24-year-old made his AFL<\/a> debut in Round 19 against Adelaide, which would be his sole game at the level for the year.<\/p>\n

Jepson recorded 12 disposals and three inside 50s in that match before returning to the VFL, where he played 16 games in 2025.<\/p>\n

“We have committed to selecting Ben in the upcoming rookie draft,” a club statement read.<\/p>\n

“After earning a spot on our list and making his AFL<\/a> debut in 2025, we believe he will continue to be a valuable member of our squad.”<\/p>\n

The Suns have also decided to promote flanker Sam Clohesy<\/a> to their primary list for 2026.<\/p>\n

Clohesy joined Gold Coast from VFL outfit Werribee as a rookie selection in 2023, and has since played 34 games at AFL<\/a> level, including 14 this year.<\/p>\n

The Suns have cut Thomas Berry<\/a>, Lloyd Johnston<\/a> and Alex Sexton<\/a> this year, while Ben Ainsworth<\/a>\u00a0(Carlton Blues<\/a>),\u00a0Connor Budarick<\/a>\u00a0(Western Bulldogs<\/a>),\u00a0Brayden Fiorini<\/a>\u00a0(Essendon Bombers<\/a>),\u00a0Sam Flanders<\/a>\u00a0(St Kilda Saints<\/a>),\u00a0Sean Lemmens<\/a>\u00a0(retired),\u00a0Malcolm Rosas<\/a>\u00a0(Sydney Swans<\/a>) and David Swallow<\/a> (retired) have also departed.<\/p>\n
