{"id":252665,"date":"2025-10-31T07:07:07","date_gmt":"2025-10-31T07:07:07","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/au\/252665\/"},"modified":"2025-10-31T07:07:07","modified_gmt":"2025-10-31T07:07:07","slug":"thank-you-thomson-dow","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/au\/252665\/","title":{"rendered":"Thank you, Thomson Dow"},"content":{"rendered":"<p class=\"article__summary\">\n                Thomson Dow will depart Richmond, with the Club unable to offer him a contract for next season.\n            <\/p>\n<p>Richmond has informed midfielder Thomson Dow that he will not be offered a contract for the 2026 AFL season.<\/p>\n<p>Dow departs after 45 games with Richmond across six seasons.<\/p>\n<p>The former selection No. 21 overall in the 2019 AFL Draft made his debut in the 2020 premiership season.<\/p>\n<p>He played 17 games last year and the opening 11 matches of 2025 before a knee injury ended his year prematurely.<\/p>\n<p>Richmond Executive General Manager, Football Talent, Blair Hartley, thanked Dow for his six seasons at the Club.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThomson was very unlucky to miss the second half of the season through injury,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cUnfortunately, this time of year, we need to make hard decisions, and we were unable to offer Thomson a list spot for 2026.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWe thank Thomson for his hard work during his six years with us.
