(Supplied: Ghost Gully Produce Pty Ltd)<\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph_paragraph__iYReA\"><a class=\"Link_link__5eL5m ScreenReaderOnly_srLinkHint__OysWz Link_showVisited__C1Fea Link_showFocus__ALyv2\" href=\"https:\/\/www.bom.gov.au\/warning\/severe-thunderstorm-warning\/IDQ21033\" data-component=\"Link\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">A very dangerous thunderstorm warning remains in place for locations<\/a> including Toowoomba, the Sunshine Coast, and Gympie.<\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph_paragraph__iYReA\">&#8220;Plenty of storms up around the Sunny Coast &#8230; it does look like the focus is shifting northwards as we go into the rest of the afternoon and evening,&#8221; he said.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph_paragraph__iYReA\">Storm activity is also picking up around Boonah and the Scenic Rim, Mr Hanniffy said, while Brisbane has so far avoided the worst of the severe weather, despite areas such as Ipswich, Toowoomba, and Caboolture also under warning.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph_paragraph__iYReA\">The storms also cut power to about 4,500 Energex customers on the Sunshine Coast, mainly around Aroona, Golden Beach, Pelican Waters and Battery Hill.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>Loading&#8230;<\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph_paragraph__iYReA\">Another 3,200 customers were affected in the Logan area, with the worst outages in Beenleigh, Cedar Vale and Eagleby.<\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph_paragraph__iYReA\">There won&#8217;t be any relief on Saturday as the risk of severe storm activity peaks and a surface trough moves across the state.<\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph_paragraph__iYReA\">&#8220;Tomorrow is in fact the peak day in terms of that very serious storm risk around south-east Queensland,&#8221; Mr Hanniffy said.<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" alt=\"Lightning over the Sunshine Coast with moody clouds behind\" class=\"Image_image__5tFYM ContentImage_image__DQ_cq\"  src=\"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/au\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/10\/1d7823a0e78ff7e7fc1b89c2a38cf6ee\" loading=\"lazy\" data-component=\"Image\" data-lazy=\"true\"\/><\/p>\n<p class=\"Typography_base__sj2RP FigureCaption_text__zDxQ5 Typography_sizeMobile12__w_FPC Typography_lineHeightMobile20___U7Vr Typography_regular__WeIG6 Typography_colourInherit__dfnUx\" data-component=\"Typography\">Sunshine Coast residents saw lightning strikes offshore as the storm arrived on Friday afternoon.
