ZOHO\u2019s co-founder and Chief Scientist, Sridhar Vembu, went on a tirade online slamming healthcare experts, doctors, neonatal care specialists, and others with domain expertise on vaccines. Quoting a shoddy research work on X (Twitter), Vembu quipped,<\/p>\n
Parents should take this analysis seriously. I believe there is increasing evidence that we are giving way too many vaccines to very young children. This is spreading in India too and we are seeing a rapid increase in autism in India.<\/p>\n
He is actively responding to every physician and expert on Twitter, trying to downplay their credentials with arguments that can be picked for examples of all sorts of logical fallacies. When one doctor stated,<\/p>\n
This is utterly irresponsible. Luckily people don’t listen to folk like you; otherwise we would have an infectious disease crisis on our hands.<\/p>\n
Vembu wrote<\/p>\n
You are a hyperspecialist in neonatal care. You cannot possibly _scientifically_ know all the _long-term_ effects of every shot we give young babies because you do not clinically see those neonatal babies once they grow out of that stage.<\/p>\n
Vembu added,<\/p>\n
Please cultivate an open, curious mind, doctor\u2014professional arrogance arising from your institutional pedigree is completely unbecoming of a scientist. Your kind of hyper-specialization is itself a serious crisis in medicine today.<\/p>\n
Dr Cyric Abby Phillips, popularly known as the Liver Doctor on Twitter, tried instilling some sense, whilst debunking the arguments, imploring Zoho\u2019s chief scientist to stop,<\/p>\n
The doctor remarked,<\/p>\n
For the public and patients, please do not stop vaccinating your children. You don’t want polio to come back. You don’t want measles to kill your child like it is doing in the US because boomer uncles in charge of US Health Departments have become anti science.<\/p>\n
The conclusions of this study are not credible either. The “authors” who themselves are a bunch of antivaxxers, funded by an antivaxx organization, who published the study on their own antivaxx website. Not peer reviewed, not scrutinized.<\/p>\n
The low IQ authors have selectively amplified weaker associations while dismissing robust epidemiological data from millions showing no vaccine-autism link.<\/p>\n
