{"id":253198,"date":"2025-10-31T12:41:08","date_gmt":"2025-10-31T12:41:08","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/au\/253198\/"},"modified":"2025-10-31T12:41:08","modified_gmt":"2025-10-31T12:41:08","slug":"alex-marquez-explains-why-marc-marquez-is-so-difficult-to-beat-in-motogp","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/au\/253198\/","title":{"rendered":"Alex Marquez explains why Marc Marquez is \u201cso difficult to beat\u201d in MotoGP"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Nobody knows Marc Marquez\u2019s strengths and weaknesses better than his younger brother Alex, who completed a historic MotoGP family one-two behind the #93 this season.<\/p>\n<p>Although Marc dominated during his debut season at the factory Ducati team, Alex was consistently best of the rest and managed to land some significant blows along the way.<\/p>\n<p>The<a href=\"https:\/\/www.crash.net\/motogp\/teams\/gresini-racing-motogp\" data-entity-type=\"external\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\"> Gresini<\/a> rider, on last year\u2019s GP24, finished runner-up for the opening seven races in a row, six of them behind his brother, before becoming the first rider to win a<a href=\"https:\/\/www.crash.net\/motogp\" data-entity-type=\"external\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\"> MotoGP<\/a> race that Marc also finished, at Jerez.<\/p>\n<p>That victory came after an early mistake from Marc, but Alex beat him fair and square in the Silverstone Sprint.<\/p>\n<p>Marc then unleashed a 14-race winning streak to destroy any doubts about winning his first title since 2019. That run was finally broken by Alex, in Catalunya.<\/p>\n<p> Article continues below ADVERTISEMENT<\/p>\n<p> Article continues below ADVERTISEMENT<\/p>\n<p>Marc was crowned mathematical champion at Motegi, then suffered a shoulder injury at Mandalika, which will keep him from the racetrack until 2026.<\/p>\n<p>Meanwhile, Alex clinched second in the championship in last Saturday\u2019s Sepang Sprint before celebrating with a third grand prix victory of the season the following day.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cIf you look at his numbers, Marc seems practically unbeatable &#8211; although in sport no one is truly unbeatable because everything can change from one day to the next,\u201d <a href=\"https:\/\/www.crash.net\/motogp\/racer\/935450\/alex-marquez\" data-entity-type=\"external\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Alex Marquez<\/a> said at an Estrella-Galicia event.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThere are many factors that can influence things, so no one is unreachable, even if they\u2019re very hard to beat.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI\u2019ve always said it: a Marc with the right tools is extremely difficult to defeat over 22 races.<\/p>\n<p> Article continues below ADVERTISEMENT<\/p>\n<p> Article continues below ADVERTISEMENT<\/p>\n<p>\u201cYou might beat him on specific occasions, but being better than him overall is very hard because his main strength is that he\u2019s such a complete rider &#8211; he always pushes you to the limit.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThat\u2019s why I think it\u2019s so difficult to beat Marc\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Alex admitted that to try and match his brother\u2019s relentless pace, he had to start taking bigger risks.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cAt the start of the season, I wasn\u2019t crashing in practice, but after about five races I started to crash in practice sessions because I realised it was the only way to find the limit and really challenge Marc,&#8221; Alex explained.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cHowever, the crashes I was having &#8211; he was saving them.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;In the end, you must ride so close to the limit that you end up crashing, but it\u2019s the only way to be ready for Sunday and to understand the boundaries he can so easily manage.<\/p>\n<p> Article continues below ADVERTISEMENT<\/p>\n<p> Article continues below ADVERTISEMENT<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThat\u2019s why I think it\u2019s so difficult to beat Marc.<\/p>\n<p>    <img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/au\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/10\/3000_gng_1260826_hires.jpg\"   type=\"image\/jpeg\" alt=\"Marc Marquez, Alex Marquez, 2025 Catalan MotoGP\" loading=\"lazy\" style=\"aspect-ratio:1.5\"\/> <\/p>\n<p>Marc Marquez, Alex Marquez, 2025 Catalan MotoGP<\/p>\n<p>  &#8220;There are two ways to react&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>\u201cEven so, the stronger your rivals are, the more they push you to improve,&#8221; Alex continued.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cAnd there are two ways to react to that: You can be jealous and think, \u2018Well, he\u2019s good, but not that good &#8211; I\u2019ll beat him eventually,\u2019 or you can focus on how he does things.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI believe it\u2019s the latter that makes you a better rider &#8211;
