Previously, the towering creature’s visage was shrouded by his cloak as he either loomed over Oscar Isaac’s Victor Frankenstein, or his silhouette was shown as he was getting zapped back to life or throwing folks around rooms and pirate ships. Here, though, we see a mix of the Creature at his most imposing, dragging his deadbeat dad out of his makeshift tent, as well as him at his most vulnerable, tenderly interacting with Mia Goth’s Elizabeth Harlander.

Though of course, as the neatly embedded quotes lie within the trailer, they underscore the story being told in its final trailer; it’s all about the Creature wrestling with his existence, emphasizing he’s not “something” but “someone,” as well as Frankenstein’s reckless abandon, not considering the repercussions for what would come after making the Creature. Those violent delights appear to have violent ends, with the Creature serving as his father’s reckoning.

Outside of Isaac, Elordi, and Goth’s big marquee appearances in its final trailer, the rest of the Frankenstein cast is adorned by Christoph Waltz as Heinrich Harlander and Felix Kammerer as William Frankenstein. What little else is new we can glean from the trailer is a closer look at the neat miniatures used to make its sets pop. But, by and large, the trailer is primarily a showcase of all the makeup work and prosthetics used to transform Elordi into the Creature, which we aren’t mad about seeing bathed in light as a chaser to the studio portrait look we got of him last week.

Jacob Elordi is The Creature.

FRANKENSTEIN, a film by Guillermo del Toro, now playing in select theaters and on Netflix November 7. pic.twitter.com/omRJdV4CGw

— Frankenstein Film (@FrankensteinGDT) October 24, 2025

In concert with the pull quotes in the trailer, io9’s review for Frankenstein praised it as del Toro at the peak of his powers, writing, “It truly feels like a movie he was meant to make.
