GWS has delisted explosive forward Jake Stringer<\/a> and young defender Conor Stone<\/a> with a view to redrafting the duo during November’s draft period.<\/p>\n

The Giants have adopted a strategy by delisting the pair to align with the AFL Draft<\/a> rules, despite the club’s commitment to both players in 2026.<\/p>\n

The strategy behind the move is to ensure that the club utilises Picks 12 and 35 in the National Draft.<\/p>\n

“This is a common process we need to follow most seasons to prepare appropriately for the National Draft,” Giants Head of Talent, Adrian Caruso, said.<\/p>\n

“Both Conor and Jake fully understand and support the move, and they’re aware of our ongoing commitment to them as players.”<\/p>\n

However, the pair are available for rival clubs to swoop.<\/p>\n

Stone has previously fielded interest from a range of Victorian clubs, including Essendon, before he extended for two years at the end of 2024.<\/p>\n

Tactics like this have been done before, with Gold Coast briefly farewelling Hugh Greenwood<\/a> at the end of 2021, with the commitment of relisting him a few weeks later.<\/p>\n

North Melbourne pounced on the opportunity to add the experienced midfielder to their list, signing him for two years, and ultimately denying the Suns a chance to redraft him.<\/p>\n
