Cairns Taipans coach Adam Forde was left to lament another disappointing loss for his team on Thursday night, saying his players \u201clack the edge\u201d required to win right now.<\/p>\n
It was the seventh straight loss for a team highly touted to be in the championship mix following an off-season recruiting spree. Even with injuries and misfortune proving costly, no one at the club could be content with this start.<\/p>\n
\u201cThis is not great, this is bad basketball \u2026 we have to address it right now,\u201d Forde said following the 28-point defeat.<\/p>\n
\u201cWhat\u2019s your edge, what\u2019s your desperation? I can\u2019t want it more for you.<\/p>\n
\u201cIt can be a moment in someone\u2019s career to establish themselves.\u201d<\/p>\n<\/p>\n
Forde pointed to his team\u2019s lack of urgency in key moments after they led 41\u201340 midway through the second quarter, only to concede a 10-point half-time deficit.<\/p>\n
Tyrell Harrison, Casey Prather and Jaylen Adams dominated the second half as the Taipans crumbled under pressure.<\/p>\n
\u201cIt was too easy; Brisbane were able to get what they wanted,\u201d Forde continued.<\/p>\n
\u201cWhat we lack is that edge. We\u2019ve got a lot of nice guys \u2026 they don\u2019t like losing by 30, you can feel it.<\/p>\n
\u201cBut you can play hard without talent and get wins.\u201d<\/p>\n
