Injured Wallabies playmaker Noah Lolesio has officially signed with second division Japanese club Toyota Industries Shuttles Aichi.<\/p>\n

He is joined by former teammate and Wallabies flyhalf Christian Leali’ifano as they look for promotion.<\/p>\n

Lolesio’s departure from the ACT Brumbies was confirmed in April after signing a one-year deal.<\/a><\/p>\n

The 25-year-old had established himself as the starter in the Wallabies system before a nasty neck injury derailed his season.<\/p>\n

Lolesio was stretched from the field in the final quarter of Australia’s win over Fiji in Newcastle and has not played since.<\/p>\n

“I am very excited to join Toyota Industries Shuttles Aichi. I moved from Australia and have been looking forward to being part of a new rugby community in Japan,” the statement read. <\/p>\n

“I have heard great things about the team culture and team spirit. I am looking forward to meeting everyone, training hard, and contributing on and off the field. I am also looking forward to learning about Japanese rugby and the unique style of play here. I<\/p>\n

“I am grateful for the opportunity to be a part of this special club, and I look forward to working hard to achieve great things together.”<\/p>\n

Lolesio has previously had stints with Toulon in France’s Top 14, signing as a ‘joker’ during the 2023 Rugby World Cup.<\/p>\n

Leali’ifano joins his fellow former Brumby at the club, having last played for RFC Los Angeles in the MLR.<\/p>\n

The 38-year-old also featured for Samoa at this year’s Pacific Nations Cup, however, will not feature in their Final Qualification Tournament.<\/p>\n
