The Braves used a balanced scoring attack and suffocating defense to take control early and never looked back.<\/p>\n<p>First Quarter<br \/>&#13;<br \/>\nKansas Christian held an early 6\u20132 advantage before the Braves settled in with a barrage of three-pointers. <a href=\"https:\/\/ottawabraves.com\/sports\/womens-basketball\/roster\/kaelynn-duncan\/11226\" rel=\"smarttag nofollow noopener\" rev=\"11226\" target=\"_blank\">Kaelynn Duncan<\/a> knocked down back-to-back triples, and <a href=\"https:\/\/ottawabraves.com\/sports\/womens-basketball\/roster\/clare-williams\/11505\" rel=\"smarttag nofollow noopener\" rev=\"11505\" target=\"_blank\">Clare Williams<\/a> added one of her own to spark an 11\u20130 Ottawa run. Duncan stayed hot from deep, scoring six points in the frame as OU took a 19\u201312 lead after one.<\/p>\n<p>Second Quarter<br \/>&#13;<br \/>\nThe Braves exploded offensively in the second, outscoring the Falcons 25\u201311. <a href=\"https:\/\/ottawabraves.com\/sports\/womens-basketball\/roster\/tiyani-rollins\/11231\" rel=\"smarttag nofollow noopener\" rev=\"11231\" target=\"_blank\">Tiyani Rollins<\/a> opened the period with a three-pointer before Duncan buried three more from behind the arc, giving her 18 points by halftime. <a href=\"https:\/\/ottawabraves.com\/sports\/womens-basketball\/roster\/mckinley-kruger\/11508\" rel=\"smarttag nofollow noopener\" rev=\"11508\" target=\"_blank\">McKinley Kruger<\/a> and <a href=\"https:\/\/ottawabraves.com\/sports\/womens-basketball\/roster\/clare-williams\/11505\" rel=\"smarttag nofollow noopener\" rev=\"11505\" target=\"_blank\">Clare Williams<\/a> each added threes of their own as Ottawa extended its lead to 44\u201323 at the break.<\/p>\n<p>Third Quarter<br \/>&#13;<br \/>\nOttawa&#8217;s defense and tempo overwhelmed Kansas Christian in the third quarter, as the Braves outscored the visitors 34\u201311. <a href=\"https:\/\/ottawabraves.com\/sports\/womens-basketball\/roster\/miranda-patterson\/11509\" rel=\"smarttag nofollow noopener\" rev=\"11509\" target=\"_blank\">Miranda Patterson<\/a> and <a href=\"https:\/\/ottawabraves.com\/sports\/womens-basketball\/roster\/ashlynn-arnsman\/11503\" rel=\"smarttag nofollow noopener\" rev=\"11503\" target=\"_blank\">Ashlynn Arnsman<\/a> each scored early baskets to build momentum, and the Braves&#8217; second unit kept the pace high. Williams hit two more threes, and freshman <a href=\"https:\/\/ottawabraves.com\/sports\/womens-basketball\/roster\/grace-mcphail\/11229\" rel=\"smarttag nofollow noopener\" rev=\"11229\" target=\"_blank\">Grace McPhail<\/a> buried one to push the lead to over 40.<\/p>\n<p>The quarter ended with <a href=\"https:\/\/ottawabraves.com\/sports\/womens-basketball\/roster\/dominique-schutte\/11232\" rel=\"smarttag nofollow noopener\" rev=\"11232\" target=\"_blank\">Dominique Schutte<\/a> drilling a three-pointer at the buzzer to give OU a commanding 78\u201334 advantage.<\/p>\n<p>Fourth Quarter<br \/>&#13;<br \/>\nOttawa continued to roll in the final frame, as Arnsman scored two quick buckets and McPhail, Williams, and <a href=\"https:\/\/ottawabraves.com\/sports\/womens-basketball\/roster\/kimberly-cruz\/11599\" rel=\"smarttag nofollow noopener\" rev=\"11599\" target=\"_blank\">Kimberly Cruz<\/a> each connected from long range. Cruz capped the night with a three-pointer and an assist to <a href=\"https:\/\/ottawabraves.com\/sports\/womens-basketball\/roster\/kiana-hostetler\/11507\" rel=\"smarttag nofollow noopener\" rev=\"11507\" target=\"_blank\">Kiana Hostetler<\/a> for the final basket, sealing the 97\u201349 win.<br \/>&#13;<br \/>\nBy the Numbers&#13;<br \/>\n&#13;\n<\/p>\n<p>As a team, Ottawa shot 41.1 percent from the field and 33.9 percent from three-point range, finishing with 28 assists on 37 made baskets.<\/p>\n<p>Who is Next<br \/>&#13;<br \/>\nOttawa (1-0) returns to the court on Monday, Nov. 3 in a road contest against Baker University in Baldwin City, Kan.
