AFL Tasmania wishes to acknowledge the contribution of Barry Dunham to the Darwin Football Association and to football across the North West Coast as he steps away from the role as President of the DFA.\u00a0<\/p>\n
Barry has dedicated ten seasons to the Association, showing great passion and care for the success of the competition, its clubs, and the game more broadly. He has been a tireless advocate for grassroots and country football, always fighting for the best outcomes for his competition.<\/p>\n
AFL Tasmania Head,\u00a0Damian Gill, said Barry is the quintessential football diehard.\u00a0<\/p>\n
\u201cBarry has been an incredible servant of Tasmanian football and a true champion for community footy on the Coast,\u201d Gill said.<\/p>\n
\u201cHe\u2019s poured his heart into the DFA and has played a huge role in the football journeys of so many, both on and off the field.\u201d<\/p>\n
Gill said Barry\u2019s legacy would be felt for years to come.<\/p>\n
\u201cPeople like Barry are the heartbeat of the game. His passion for his association is ferocious, and that dedication and longevity is what make people like Barry special and what makes local footy so special,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n
