A motorcyclist has been slammed for arguing with a cop after he was cut off at an intersection, with Aussies claiming he was in the wrong and should be more careful.<\/p>\n

The motorcyclist ran into trouble while riding along Pitt Street, in Sydney<\/a>‘s CBD, in May.\u00a0<\/p>\n

A video captured by the rider showed him attempting to move into the far left lane as he approached a set of red lights.<\/p>\n

The police car ahead of him changed lanes, prompting the angry motorcyclist to hit his brakes and sound his horn to avoid a crash.\u00a0<\/p>\n

However, the officer pulled up next to the motorcyclists to deliver some stern advice.\u00a0<\/p>\n

‘If you’re going to go into the middle of the lanes, then you have to be watching indicators,’ he said in the video.\u00a0<\/p>\n

‘So did you when you turn,’ the motorcyclist replied.<\/p>\n

‘You did not see me and you did not look in your mirrors.’<\/p>\n

The motorcyclist came off worse for wear after confronting a policeman in Sydney’s CBD<\/p>\n

The officer chastised the motorcyclist for not properly following road rules, but the rider continued to defend himself before he was quickly silenced.\u00a0<\/p>\n

‘Don’t give me backchat,’ the officer said.<\/p>\n

The video show the motorcyclist riding off down Park Street, calling the officer an ‘idiot’ once he was well out of earshot.\u00a0<\/p>\n

The rider shared footage of the altercation to Instagram.<\/p>\n

‘Who’s in the right?’ the caption read.<\/p>\n

Social media users immediately jumped to the defence of the officer, arguing he had used his indicator well before the motorcyclist tried to pass his police car.\u00a0<\/p>\n

‘The cop put the indicators on. The motorcyclist was just being an a** looking for likes,’ one wrote.\u00a0<\/p>\n

‘You’re riding in the blind spot, not defensive riding at all,’ another said.<\/p>\n

‘You are wrong. You’re lucky he didn’t fine you,’ a third added.<\/p>\n

Others warned the motorcyclist to be more careful in the future, arguing he could cause a crash by riding in people’s blind spots.<\/p>\n

‘I love how you\u2019re trying to argue technicalities of who’s right or wrong,’ one said.<\/p>\n

‘If you get hit by a car while on a bike, you’re the one that comes off second best – every single time.\u00a0<\/p>\n

‘Cop is right and taught you a lesson before you got hurt. If you’re filtering, stay vigilant. Foolish behaviour,’ another said.\u00a0<\/p>\n
