Ankalaev had defeated Pereira via decision back at UFC 313 \u2014 which <a href=\"https:\/\/www.mmamania.com\/ufc-news\/397376\/alex-pereira-sick-as-a-dog-for-first-magomed-ankalaev-fight-could-barely-walk-on-busted-shin\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Pereira claims he was injured for<\/a> \u2014 so it was important for \u201cPoatan\u201d to show up in the reboot and prove he\u2019s still the best 205-pound fighter in the world. Pereira did just that with a <a href=\"https:\/\/www.mmamania.com\/ufc-320-ankalaev-vs-pereira-rematch-start-time-full-results-espn-mma\/394054\/highlights-alex-pereira-shuts-up-the-doubters-annihilates-magomed-ankalaev-in-a-minute-at-ufc-320\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">first-round TKO victory<\/a>, but he <a href=\"https:\/\/www.mmamania.com\/latest-news\/395139\/alex-pereira-confirms-broken-foot-will-not-return-to-action-in-2025\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">suffered a broken foot<\/a> along the way.<\/p>\n<p class=\"duet--article--dangerously-set-cms-markup duet--article--standard-paragraph _1nfb3k4i _16w9vov1 _16w9vov0 ls9zuh1\">Pereira, who is no stranger to foot and <a href=\"https:\/\/www.mmamania.com\/2024\/4\/16\/24132378\/alex-pereira-releases-video-broken-toe-suffered-ufc-300-grisly-attempts-rotate-back-into-place-mma\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">toe injuries<\/a> due to his kick-heavy fighting style, was instructed by UFC doctors to wear a boot for six more weeks, but \u201cPoatan\u201d isn\u2019t listening to their advice. Instead, Pereira will do what\u2019s best for his foot, mobility, and overall ability to get back inside the Octagon.<\/p>\n<p class=\"duet--article--dangerously-set-cms-markup duet--article--standard-paragraph _1nfb3k4i _16w9vov1 _16w9vov0 ls9zuh1\">\u201dThe UFC doctors told me to wear the boot for another six weeks,\u201d said Pereira during a recent interview with <a href=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/watch?v=eii5OzekRno\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">MMA Hoje<\/a> (snippet shown above).<\/p>\n<p class=\"duet--article--dangerously-set-cms-markup duet--article--standard-paragraph _1nfb3k4i _16w9vov1 _16w9vov0 ls9zuh1\">\u201cAre you wearing it?\u201d asked the host.<\/p>\n<p class=\"duet--article--dangerously-set-cms-markup duet--article--standard-paragraph _1nfb3k4i _16w9vov1 _16w9vov0 ls9zuh1\">\u201dNo,\u201d said Pereira while laughing. \u201cI got some more opinions. On one hand it\u2019s good, but on the other hand it could atrophy my foot a bit more. Make it harder to move, to move around, and so on.
