A Radio Kerry presenter has been nominated in the national mental health media awards.<\/p>\n
The full shortlist was announced yesterday, Friday October 31st.<\/p>\n
Deirdre Walsh, who won an IMRO radio award<\/a> earlier this month, has been shortlisted for this year’s Shine Mental Health Media Awards.<\/a><\/p>\n The Talkabout presenter was nominated for her interview with Tralee resident Nogugu Mafu, who shared her experience of living with Bipolar Affective Disorder and symptoms of psychosis.<\/p>\n The interview was broadcast in October last year and also featured Nogugu\u2019s teenage son, who spoke about helping his mother with her condition.<\/p>\n Ballybunion native Shane Phelan was also nominated in the print category.<\/p>\n Radio Kerry’s sister station Shannonside Northern Sound is also on the shortlist.<\/p>\n Journalist Dan Dooner was nominated in the Refugee Mental Health category for his piece titled ‘Gaza calling: loved ones in limbo’<\/p>\n Winners will be announced on the 3rd of December at an award ceremony in Dublin.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"A Radio Kerry presenter has been nominated in the national mental health media awards.
