Kangaroos star Reece Walsh was sin-binned for an ugly mid-air tackle on England winger Dom Young that sparked an all-in melee in a fiery Australian victory in the<\/a> second Test. <\/p>\n

In the 66th minute with Australia leading by eventual margin 14-4, England skipper George Williams put in a pinpoint kick for the corner and a flying Young, who dropped the ball after a touch from Josh Addo-Carr. <\/p>\n

However, Walsh appeared to make no effort to catch the ball and instead launched himself at Young in mid-air, as the ball spilt over the in-goal line. <\/p>\n

Herbie Farnworth took exception to Walsh\u2019s illegal tactics sparking an all-in melee between both sides. <\/p>\n

\u201cAgain we are on ring-side seats down in the corner,\u201d Andrew Voss said on Fox League. <\/p>\n

\u201cI think the England players are not happy with the contact of Reece Walsh on Dom Young,\u201d Cooper Cronk added. <\/p>\n

\u201cThe video ref will look at this and if that shoulder is tucked and there is contact to the head.\u201d <\/p>\n

Cronk initially thought there wasn\u2019t too much Walsh could have done to avoid the contact. <\/p>\n

\u201cI don\u2019t think there is too much in it, yes there is contact, but he hasn\u2019t tucked it and gone straight, it was part of the movement of the play,\u201d Cronk said. <\/p>\n

However, on closer inspection Voss forecast a penalty and potential sin bin for Walsh. <\/p>\n

\u201cIt is a mid-air tackle on a man who has already lost the ball, that\u2019s what happens here,\u201d Voss said. <\/p>\n

\u201cThis is a mid-air tackle, so it has to be an infringement of some kind.\u201d <\/p>\n

Video referee Jack Smith agreed it was a penalty, but was prompted by on-field referee Grant Atkins to push for a harsher punishment. <\/p>\n

\u201cHe is trying to lead the video referee.\u201d <\/p>\n

Cronk admitted after multiple replays Walsh had to be sent to the sin bin. <\/p>\n

\u201cOriginally I thought there wasn\u2019t much in it, but the fact that the ball is gone and eyes for Reece Walsh were straight at Dom Young. <\/p>\n

After a drawn out review, Smith eventually came to the only logical conclusion. <\/p>\n

\u201cThere is no attempt to wrap from Reece Walsh and there is also some secondary contact with the head as it comes forward, so this will be a sin bin against Reece Walsh,\u201d Smith said. <\/p>\n

Walsh remonstrated with Atkins on-field, but Voss rubbished any potential for a defence for the Kangaroos fullback. <\/p>\n

\u201cSo Reece has got a yellow card and there is no defence,\u201d Voss said. <\/p>\n

\u201c13 on 12 with 14 minutes to play. Walsh will only be back for the final four minutes of the game.\u201d <\/p>\n
