<\/a>Paramount Pictures<\/p>\nEdgar Wright unveils his new take on Stephen King\u2019s \u201cThe Running Man\u201d this coming Friday and has been out promoting the film lately.<\/p>\n
Speaking on The Discourse<\/a> podcast, the British helmer confirms that not only is a sequel to his acclaimed 2017 action thriller \u201cBaby Driver\u201d possible, but a script has already been completed:<\/p>\n \u201cThere is a script for \u2018Baby Driver 2.\u2019 That is something that actually exists. But most filmmaking depends on factors beyond you \u2014 timing, financing, who\u2019s available. You\u2019re not always completely in control of those things.\u201d<\/p>\n The original film grossed $227 million from a $34 million budget, making it his most successful directorial effort to date. Wright\u2019s scripting work on \u201cThe Adventures of Tintin\u201d ($374 million) and \u201cAnt-Man\u201d ($519 million) remain his most commercially successful films.<\/p>\n The other question would be cast \u2013 two of the film\u2019s stars, Ansel Elgort and Kevin Spacey, have faced off-screen issues that would make their returns questionable. Jon Bernthal, Jamie Foxx, Jon Hamm and Eiza Gonzalez also starred in the original.<\/p>\n What\u2019s next for Wright is not clear, though his name has been attached to a remake of \u201cBarbarella\u201d for some time.<\/p>\n
