A new era is set to begin at Celtic following Brendan Rodgers\u2019 exit. <\/p>\n

Everyone saw this coming, but perhaps not in the manner in which it all unfolded on Monday evening when Rodgers resigned from his post. <\/p>\n

Rodgers didn\u2019t leave Celtic Park<\/a> with flowers in his hands and a box of chocolates, but left to stand in the rain on his own after being verbally savaged by Dermot Desmond<\/a>. <\/p>\n

But while all of that continues to be a talking point, who will be Celtic\u2019s next manager?<\/a><\/p>\n

When Sky Sports brought up the issue, ahead of Celtic\u2019s League Cup semi-final clash against Rangers<\/a>.<\/p>\n

Paul Merson wanted to make the point that managers who have got clubs relegated have been treated with more respect than Rodgers was shown by Desmond.<\/p>\n

That\u2019s when Merson saw the list of contenders for the job, and how the bookies don\u2019t really have anyone as favourites, with Kieran McKenna joint favourite<\/a> alongside Martin O\u2019Neill. <\/p>\n

Either way, Merson thinks it\u2019s \u2018very worrying\u2019, as there doesn\u2019t seem to be a clear candidate days after Rodgers\u2019 exit. <\/p>\n

\u201cI\u2019ve seen managers get football clubs relegated, and when they have left, they haven\u2019t been talked about like that,\u201d said Merson on Desmond\u2019s statement on Rodgers. \u00a0<\/p>\n

On seeing the contenders for the possible Celtic job: \u201cWow,\u201d stated Merson. \u201cThey don\u2019t know. Wow. That\u2019s worrying. Very worrying.\u201d<\/p>\n

Who is on the list to be Celtic\u2019s next manager? <\/p>\n

It has to be noted that it\u2019s speculation, but in some cases, the usual names have been put on the table, such as former managers or ex-players, who are now in coaching. <\/p>\n

MON\u2019s name will continue to get a mention because of his status and as long as he is still wearing the colours, even if it\u2019s very unlikely to happen.<\/p>\n
