Picture: Getty Images<\/p>\n<p>The AFL congratulates Port Adelaide\u2019s Gemma Houghton after the forward became the first AFLW player to kick 100 career goals in the competition.<\/p>\n<p>The history-making moment came on Saturday at Henson Park against the GWS GIANTS. Taking a mark in the forward 50 with only seconds to go in the game, the 31-year-old went back and slotted goal one hundred \u2013 and her fourth for the game \u2013 after the siren.<\/p>\n<p>Starting her AFLW career at Fremantle, the Western Australian played 46 games and kicked 40 goals for the Dockers before heading to Port Adelaide in 2022 \u2013 the team she grew up supporting.<\/p>\n<p>Houghton kicked Port\u2019s inaugural goal in the competition and has now booted 60 majors so far for the Power.<\/p>\n<p>AFL CEO Andrew Dillon congratulated Houghton on kicking 100 career goals and creating history.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cOn behalf of the AFL I\u2019d like to congratulate Gemma on her incredible achievement, becoming the first AFLW player to reach 100 career goals,\u201d Dillon said.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThe history-making moment certainly came down to the wire \u2013 kicking her 100th goal after the siren \u2013 and it was amazing to see all her Port teammates celebrate after the game.
