\n60th IGFR World Golf Championship officially teed off today in Hyderabad,
\nmarking the first-ever hosting of this prestigious global Rotary golfing event

\nattended the Inauguration. The week-long championship (November 1\u20137) brings
\ntogether 180 Rotarian golfers from 24 countries, accompanied by 50
\ninternational guests, celebrating Rotary\u2019s enduring spirit of friendship,
\nservice, and fellowship through sport. Hosted by the South Asian Fellowship of
\nGolfing Rotarians (SAFGR) in collaboration with the International Golfing
\nFellowship of Rotarians (IGFR), the event was inaugurated with a grand opening
\nceremony at Taj Krishna, graced by Rotarians, dignitaries, and international
\nguests.<\/p>\n
Welcoming

\nKrishna Raothe Minister for Tourism, Government of Telangana, said \u201cWe are not just
\ninaugurating a sporting event; we are celebrating a series of historic firsts.
\nThe 60th IGFR World Championship is a diamond jubilee of a legacy\u2014and the first
\never in India and Asia. Telangana is proud to host this global fellowship. We invite
\nthe world to discover our culture, hospitality, and growing golf tourism

Competition
\nrounds will be played at Hyderabad Golf Club, Boulder Hills Golf & Country
\nClub, and Vooty Golf County, positioning India as an emerging destination for world-class
\ngolf events. Beyond competition, the championship celebrates India\u2019s culture
\nand hospitality through an Indian Mela, a royal evening at Falaknuma Palace,
\nand city excursions for accompanying guests.<\/p>\n
