ST. HELENA ISLAND, S.C. \u2013 Jeffrey Sager<\/a> shot a career-best 1-under par 70 on Sunday to lead the Central Michigan men’s golf team during the second round of the Fripp Island Intercollegiate at Ocean Creek Golf Club.

\nCMU’s Keith Hunter<\/a> remains in contention for medalist honors after shooting a 3-over 74 on Sunday. He is at 2-under 140 and one shot off the pace through 36 holes of the 54-hole tournament.
\n\u00a0
\nThe third and final round of the stroke-play event is scheduled for 8 a.m. Monday at Ocean Creek, which is playing to par 71 over 6,609 yards.

\nHunter, who opened with a career-low tying 66 on Saturday, is tied for second place with Jeep Patrick of Presbyterian.

\nHunter and Patrick are one shot behind Javier Morgado of North Carolina A&T. Morgado shot a 2-under 69 on Sunday and stands at 3-under for the event.

\nSager, a freshman from Alma, made two birdies against one bogey in posting his 70. He is tied for 25th at 5-over 147.
\n\u00a0
\nAlso tied at 25th is CMU’s Philippe Yturralde<\/a>, who shot an even-par 71 on Sunday.
\n\u00a0
\nAlso for the Chippewas on Sunday, Hudson Vedder<\/a> posted a 4-over 75, and Jeffrey Andrus<\/a> shot 5-over 76.
\n\u00a0
\nAndrus is tied for 29th at 6-over 148 and Vedder is tied for 36th at 8-over 150.

\nCMU’s Nicholas Kilgore<\/a>, playing as an individual, shot 83 on Sunday and is tied for 54th at 163.

\nThe Chippewas posted a 290 team score on Sunday and are in fourth place in the nine-team field with a 579 total. They trail third-placed Gardner-Webb by three shots.

\nCharleston Southern and Lafayette are tied for first place at 573. Charleston Southern shot 284 on Sunday, while Lafayette posted a 289 total.
