Curb Your Enthusiasm<\/a> star Cheryl Hines has suggested that \u201cpolitics\u201d are the reason she and Larry David<\/a> no longer speak to one another.<\/p>\n

Hines, 60, played the wife of David\u2019s semi-autobiographical character on the acclaimed HBO sitcom, and is married in real life to controversial US politician Robert F Kennedy Jr<\/a> (also known as RFK Jr).<\/p>\n

David, who created the series, is a left-leaning figure who has in recent years supported the Democratic Party, while RFK, a member of the Kennedy family, currently serves as US secretary of health and human services under the Trump administration.<\/p>\n

During an appearance on the Hot Mics podcast, Hines admitted that she and David have \u201cprobably\u201d not spoken since the 2024 series finale of Curb.<\/p>\n

\u201cI haven\u2019t talked to him in a while,\u201d she said, while adding of David: \u201cI love Larry, and I think Larry loves me.\u201d<\/p>\n

\u201cI think it\u2019s just politics,\u201d she continued. \u201cIt makes conversations\u2013\u201d <\/p>\n

At this point, Hines was interrupted by podcast host Billy Bush, who said: \u201c\u201cLet\u2019s not forget this is the man who wrote a New York Times article called \u2018Dinner with Hitler\u2019\u2026 he was criticising Bill Maher. You can\u2019t take it personally.\u201d<\/p>\n

The piece in question<\/a> (\u201cMy Dinner with Adolf\u201d) was written by David, and alluded to a meeting between talk show host Bill Maher and US president Donald Trump.<\/p>\n

Hines was a regular actor on Curb throughout most of the show\u2019s run, portraying David\u2019s long-suffering wife (and, eventually, ex-wife) Cheryl. <\/p>\n

Elsewhere on the podcast, Hines voiced complaints with an interview she had recently conducted with the US talk show The View, to promote her new memoir, Unscripted.<\/p>\n

Hines appeared on the ABC talk show<\/a> earlier this month, but said that the hosts \u201cjust wanted to grill me\u201d about her husband.<\/p>\n

\u201cYou know, I was actually hoping that it was going to be more personal on The View,” Hines said. “But it was what it was. They just wanted to grill me about Bobby.\u201d<\/p>\n

\u201cI mean, I don\u2019t think the ladies on The View asked me one question about my book,” she said. “But, you know, that\u2019s okay.\u201d<\/p>\n
