To rework one of their many iconic \u201890s hits<\/a>: \u2018Let\u2019s all meet up in the year 2026, won\u2019t it be strange when we\u2019re all fully grown? Let’s see Pulp play at a venue closer to home.’<\/p>\n

Pulp haven’t visited our shores since 2011, but the Britpop legends have announced their return to Australia for a headline tour next year.\u00a0<\/p>\n

The group will kick things off in Brisbane in late February, followed by a free performance as part of Adelaide Festival<\/a>, then play Melbourne and two shows at the Sydney Opera House Forecourt in the first week of March.\u00a0<\/p>\n

Fronted by the besuited Jarvis Cocker\u2019s sharp insights and horny wit and wisdom, Pulp is arguably the coolest, canniest band to emerge from Britpop’s \u201890s heyday<\/a>.\u00a0<\/p>\n

The group recently added to their storied legacy with the release of More \u2013 the reunited band\u2019s first album since 2001\u2019s We Love Life.\u00a0<\/p>\n

A\u00a0unique, worthy addition to Pulp’s discography<\/a>, we hailed the Double J Feature Album as\u00a0\u201ca surprisingly emotive reminder that it’s always worth squeezing the last drops of juice from the pulp.\u201d\u00a0<\/p>\n

\u201cIt did take a long time. I hope that it doesn’t take 24 years again,\u201d Cocker remarked in the latest televised season of Take 5 with Zan Rowe<\/a>.\u00a0<\/p>\n

The frontman also reflected on Pulp\u2019s return to Glastonbury earlier this year, 30 years after making their grand debut at the iconic UK festival with Britpop blockbuster Different Class<\/a>.\u00a0<\/p>\n

That performance was indicative of the charming power of a Pulp show, with Cocker the foppish master of ceremonies to anthems that many of us grew up on.\u00a0<\/p>\n

\u2018Babies\u2019, \u2018Sorted For E\u2019s & Wizz\u2019, \u2018Disco 200\u2019, \u2018This Is Hardcore\u2019, \u2018Do You Remember The First Time?\u2019 and, of course, the era-defining \u2018Common People\u2019.\u00a0<\/p>\n

The band’s 2023 touring through the UK, Europe and North America received rave reviews. It’s finally Australia’s turn.<\/p>\n

These forthcoming shows will be the first time in over a decade to experience Pulp\u2019s revered body of work in the flesh.\u00a0<\/p>\n

For those lucky enough to see them before, it\u2019ll be a welcome reunion, and for those who\u2019ve never had the pleasure, this is the perfect opportunity.\u00a0<\/p>\n
