Brisbane will challenge Cathy Svarc\u2019s one-match suspension at the AFLW tribunal in a bid to clear the midfielder to play in the Lions\u2019 qualifying final against Melbourne on Sunday. <\/p>\n
Svarc, 33, was cited for striking Collingwood\u2019s Kalinda Howarth in the third quarter of Sunday\u2019s match at Victoria Park with the match review officer grading it intentional, medium impact and to the body. <\/p>\n
Svarc appears to reach out and make contact with Howarth and she crosses her path at the edge of the centre square before the Magpies\u2019 player doubles over. <\/p>\n
The Lions believe they can successfully argue down Svarc\u2019s suspension at the tribunal, which will sit on Wednesday night this week instead of Tuesday due to the Melbourne Cup. <\/p>\n
North Melbourne\u2019s Taylah Gatt was fined $400 for forceful front-on contract on Hawthorn\u2019s Greta Bodey in the fourth quarter of Friday\u2019s contest. <\/p>\n
