Week 9 in the NFL was another one for the books: There were some wild wins<\/a> and upsets<\/a>, with the Chicago Bears avoiding disaster<\/a> against the Cincinnati Bengals \u2014 much to the chagrin<\/a> of the Cincinnati offense.<\/p>\n

Defenses showed out on Sunday, including the Pittsburgh Steelers forcing six turnovers<\/a> out of the red-hot Indianapolis Colts, while the Buffalo Bills’ high-octane offense rolled to a win over the Kansas City Chiefs<\/a>. There was a bit of history, as Jacksonville Jaguars kicker Cam Little set the record for the longest field goal<\/a> in NFL regular-season history.<\/p>\n

There were also some brutal injuries. Washington Commanders quarterback Jayden Daniels went down with a gruesome left elbow injury<\/a> after he landed awkwardly late in their blowout loss to the Seattle Seahawks on Sunday night. Specifics aren’t yet known, and he’ll undergo further testing on Monday to determine the severity.<\/p>\n

Houston Texans quarterback CJ Stroud left Sunday’s loss to the Denver Broncos<\/a> early with a concussion, with head coach DeMeco Ryans calling the hit an uncalled “unnecessary roughness” penalty. The severity of Stroud’s concussion is unclear, though the CJ Stroud Foundation posted on Instagram<\/a> that the quarterback was doing okay.<\/p>\n

Green Bay Packers tight end Tucker Kraft was carted off on Sunday with a bad knee injury<\/a>, with head coach Matt LaFleur noting postgame that the injury “does not look good.” Additionally, Los Angeles Chargers left tackle Joe Alt was carted off with an ankle injury<\/a> \u2014 the same ankle that kept him out for three games earlier this season \u2014 in a huge blow to the Chargers’ offensive line.<\/p>\n

The Washington Commanders are already looking at multiple missed games from Jayden Daniels and Luke McCaffrey after their Week 9 injuries. Turns out, another player on the team is also looking at missed time coming out of the contest.<\/p>\n

It’s feared cornerback Marshon Lattimore tore his ACL during the contest.<\/p>\n

If that injury is confirmed, Lattimore will miss the entire season in recovery. The 29-year-old started all nine games for the Commanders this season. He has 27 tackles and one interception on the year.<\/p>\n

The Washington Commanders are dealing with multiple injuries following the team’s Week 9 loss to the Seattle Seahawks. In addition to potentially losing quarterback Jayden Daniels for multiple weeks, the team will also be without wideout and return man Luke McCaffrey for several games.<\/p>\n

McCaffrey sustained a broken collarbone and will be placed on Injured Reserve, according to NFL Network.<\/p>\n

While McCaffrey only has to miss four games on IR, it’s likely he misses the rest of the season due to the injury. Despite limited playing time, the 24-year-old has scored three touchdowns this season.<\/p>\n

Los Angeles Chargers starting left tackle Joe Alt is set to undergo an MRI on Monday after suffering another injury to his right ankle on Sunday for which he was carted off the field<\/a>, ESPN’s Adam Schefter reports.<\/p>\n

He previously suffered the first injury in Week 4 and missed three weeks while rehabbing, but this second setback could put him in line for a surgical repair.<\/p>\n

Packers tight end Tucker Kraft went down with a knee injury<\/a> early in the third quarter Sunday, and early reports are not looking positive. After initially being deemed questionable to return with a knee injury, he was later ruled out, and head coach Matt LaFleur shared postgame that the injury “does not look good.”<\/p>\n

NFL Network’s Ian Rapoport reported Sunday evening that the fear is that he tore his ACL in Week 9, which would put an end to his 2025 season.<\/p>\n

Kraft is the team’s leading receiver so far this season, with a touchdown in all but two of his full games played leading up to Week 9. Should the injury be confirmed, expect an uptick in snaps for teammate Luke Musgrave, who has run the second-most routes among Packers tight ends this year, per NFL Next Gen Stats.<\/p>\n

The team could also look to get WR Christian Watson more involved, having made his return from a torn ACL suffered last season just in Week 8.<\/p>\n
