Michael Matthews has committed his future to Team Jayco AlUla by penning a new deal through the end of the 2027 season.\u00a0<\/p>\n
The eight-time Grand Tour stage winner has spent the majority of his professional career in the GreenEDGE Cycling setup having returned to the squad for the 2021 season.\u00a0<\/p>\n
The 35-year-old added to his Tour de France wins tally with the team in 2022 as well making it a hattrick of victories at the Grand Prix Cycliste de Qu\u00e9bec last season, alongside a host of standout results in Monuments and one-day classics.\u00a0<\/p>\n
\u2018Bling\u2019 endured a tough 2025 season after being diagnosed with a pulmonary embolism in June, but now recovered and back racing, the Australian is excited to continue his journey with Team Jayco AlUla in 2026 and beyond.\u00a0<\/p>\n
Michael Matthews:
\u201cI\u2019m super happy, I think after the problems I had during the summer this year it made me appreciate the team, my life, the way it is and the last years I\u2019ve had in cycling. I still feel like I\u2019m 25 years old, so I\u2019m excited to continue this journey with Team Jayco AlUla and my own cycling career.\u00a0<\/p>\n
I really feel like I\u2019m getting better and better, so I\u2019m really looking forward to another two years with the team and seeing what we can achieve together. Hopefully I can achieve those goals that I\u2019ve been looking for in my career along with the team.
