Israeli pre-Seed VC and platform, Fusion, announced the promotion of Amit Shechter to Principal. Shechter joined the firm in late 2022 as an intern and has since advanced through several roles before his recent promotion. <\/p>\n
Over the past three years, he has led investment processes in more than 30 Israeli startups and sourced approximately 20% of all investments completed by the fund during that period. Among the companies he led or sourced are Quack, Newlight, and SingIt and more, who have collectively raised more than $50 million and now generate millions in annual revenues.<\/p>\n
During his military service, Shechter served in the Israeli Navy\u2019s Submarine Unit (Shayetet 7), one of the IDF\u2019s elite forces. Alongside his work at Fusion, he co-founded the \u201c28 Community\u201d, a private, nonprofit network of elite combat-unit veterans in Israel\u2019s tech ecosystem. Members of the community have collectively raised tens of millions of dollars, with several achieving successful exits. Shechter holds a double major in Computer Science and Entrepreneurship from the International Program at Reichman University, where he appeared on the Dean\u2019s List.<\/p>\n
The promotion comes as Fusion completes over 80 investments from its $20 million first fund (Fusion I) and starts raising its second fund (Fusion II). Fusion has been the first investor in several of Israel\u2019s most successful startups, including Innplay Labs (acquired by Playtika for $300M), DigitalOwl (acquired for $200M in September 2025), and many other promising companies such as Agora, Base, Hoopo, and Acsense. Other fast-growing portfolio companies include Obol, Quack AI, Samplead, NewLight, SingIt, FeminAI, Pickommerce, and NoBarrier.<\/p>\n
