(ABC South West WA: Pip Waller)<\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph_paragraph__iYReA\">&#8220;This year things are looking pretty good,&#8221; Mr De Campo said.<\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph_paragraph__iYReA\">&#8220;Yields are up, the fruit&#8217;s clean and the prices are OK.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph_paragraph__iYReA\">Mr Bendotti believes careful planning will be key to ensuring the industry&#8217;s long-term success.<\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph_paragraph__iYReA\">&#8220;Growing and picking without proper planning will be detrimental to everyone,&#8221; he said.<\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph_paragraph__iYReA\">&#8220;Managing the flow of fruit through the domestic market while increasing export opportunities becomes even more critical with the additional volumes we&#8217;re seeing.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>Export markets crucial<\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph_paragraph__iYReA\">Avocado industry leaders are placing a heavy emphasis on expanding exports in order to keep supply and demand in check.<\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph_paragraph__iYReA\">In the past financial year, Australia exported about 14,000 tonnes out of the approximately 130,000 tonnes grown nationally.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph_paragraph__iYReA\">The year before about 20,000 tonnes were exported.<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" alt=\"A smiling, middle-aged man with short, white hair holds a box of avocados at an outdoor market.\" class=\"Image_image__5tFYM ContentImage_image__DQ_cq\"  src=\"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/au\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/11\/c232bba173938ed4778f7a9393046316\" loading=\"lazy\" data-component=\"Image\" data-lazy=\"true\"\/><\/p>\n<p class=\"Typography_base__sj2RP FigureCaption_text__zDxQ5 Typography_sizeMobile12__w_FPC Typography_lineHeightMobile20___U7Vr Typography_regular__WeIG6 Typography_colourInherit__dfnUx\" data-component=\"Typography\">Brad Rodgers says China will be the industry&#8217;s next major target for exports.
