{"id":26065,"date":"2025-07-27T23:07:09","date_gmt":"2025-07-27T23:07:09","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/au\/26065\/"},"modified":"2025-07-27T23:07:09","modified_gmt":"2025-07-27T23:07:09","slug":"cheaper-medicines-coming-for-all-australians","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/au\/26065\/","title":{"rendered":"Cheaper medicines coming for all Australians"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Australians can hopefully expect their medicine bills slashed very soon as the federal government brings key legislation to cut costs this week.<\/p>\n<p>Prime Minister Anthony Albanese is expected to fulfil a key election commitment with a bill this week to reduce the price of medicines listed on the Pharmaceutical Benefits Scheme to a maximum of $25.<\/p>\n<p>The bill has bipartisan support from the Coalition, so it is expected to have an easy ride through parliament.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;Every medicine on the PBS, no more than $25.
